Why does the clear sky appear blue? How would the sky appear in the absence of earth’s atmosphere?

Solution

Scattering of light \ l1 where l is the wavelength 4 of light, i.e. least wavelength will scatter more and vice versa. Blue colour light has shorter wavelength and hence scattered more than other colours. In space, there is no atmosphere hence no scattering of light happens in the space so space appears black.
