Which phase occupies the maximum part of cell cycle?

The sequence of events by which a cell duplicates its genome, synthesises the other constituents of the cell and eventually divides into two daughter cells is termed cell cycle.

A typical cell cycle comprises two major phases:

1. Interphase, which is the largest phase of the cell cycle (nearly 95%) and is the most active phase, biochemically, and physiologically.
2. Division phase, in which the cell actually divides to form the daughter cells.
