Which one of the following gives a straight line for Freundlich adsorption isotherm?

Which one of the following gives a straight line for Freundlich adsorption isotherm?
  1. $\log \frac{x}{m} v s \log p$
  2. $\frac{x}{m} v s \frac{1}{p}$
  3. $\log \frac{x}{m} v s \log \frac{1}{p}$
  4. $\frac{x}{m} v s p$

Solution

Freundlich adsorption isotherm is as $\frac{x}{m}=K p^{1 / n}$ Taking logarithms on both sides $\log \frac{x}{m}=\log K+\frac{1}{n} \log p$ On plotting a graph between $\log x / m$ and $\log p$, a straight line will be obtained.
