Which of the following pairs of molecules is isostructural?

Which of the following pairs of molecules is isostructural?
  1. $\mathrm{HgCl}_2, \mathrm{SO}_2$
  2. $\mathrm{SnCl}_2, \mathrm{PbCl}_2$
  3. $\mathrm{SF}_4, \mathrm{XeF}_4$
  4. $\mathrm{NH}_3, \mathrm{SO}_3$

Solution

$\mathrm{Sn}$ and $\mathrm{Pb}$ both belong to group 14 of periodic table. Using two of their four valence electrons, they form $\mathrm{SnCl}_2$ and $\mathrm{PbCl}_2$ and both have bent/angular shape.
