Cl occurs commonly both in the earth's crust and seawater. the most common compound of chlorine in seawater is $\mathrm{NaCl}$ and minimum amount of $\mathrm{KCl}$ is also occur in seawater. the most mineral of $\mathrm{Cl}$ are (Rocksalt) $\mathrm{NaCl}$, (Sylvine) $\mathrm{KCl}$ and(carnallite) $\mathrm{KClMgCl}_{2}$. ( $\mathrm{Na}_{3} \mathrm{AlF}_{6}$ ) Cryolite does not contain chlorine.
