What will happen if the stretch receptors of the urinary bladder wall are totally removed ?
  1. There will be no micturition
  2. Urine will continue to collect normally in bladder
  3. Micturition will continue
  4. Urine will not collect in the bladder

Solution

Stretch receptors in the urinary bladder wall detect the filling of the bladder with urine and send signals to the brain to initiate micturition (urination). If these stretch receptors are removed, the bladder will still collect urine because there will be no sensory signal to trigger the urge to urinate. However, micturition will not occur automatically because the body would not be able to sense when the bladder is full.
