$\begin{array}{ll} & \mathrm{CH}_4+2 \mathrm{O}_2 \longrightarrow \mathrm{CO}_2+2 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \\ & 1 \text { mole of } \mathrm{CH}_4 \text { requires }=2 \times 22.4 \mathrm{dm}^3 \text { of } \mathrm{O}_2 \\ \therefore \quad & 0.25 \text { mole of methane requires } \\ = & 2 \times 22.4 \times 0.25=11.2 \mathrm{dm}^3 \text { of } \mathrm{O}_2\end{array}$
