What is the main role of cortisol in our body?
  1. Stimulation of RBC production
  2. Stimulation of gluconeogenesis
  3. Inhibition of cellular uptake and utilisation of amino acids
  4. All of the above

Solution

Cortisol is the main glucocorticoid in our body. It stimulates gluconeogenesis, lipolysis and proteolysis; and inhibits cellular uptake and utilisation of amino acids. Cortisol also plays a role in maintaining the cardio-vascular system and the kidney functions. It produces anti-inflammatory reactions and suppresses the immune response and stimulates the RBC production.
