\(-\mathrm{CH}_2 \mathrm{Cl}\) of benzyl chloride shows ortho and para substitution with \(\mathrm{Cl}^{\oplus}\) (electrophile) in the chlorination \(\left(\mathrm{Cl}_2, \mathrm{FeCl}_3\right.\) (catalyst) process. It is an electrophilic substitution reaction \(\left(\operatorname{ArS}_{\mathrm{E}} 2\right)\).
