What happens if there is a fall in GFR?

What happens if there is a fall in GFR?
  1. Renin secretion increases
  2. Glomerular blood flow decreases
  3. JG cells release renin
  4. GFR returns to normal

Solution

If there is a fall in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR), the Juxta Glomerular Apparatus (JGA) activates the JG cells to release renin. This can stimulate the glomerular blood flow and increase the GFR back to normal.
