${\mathrm{CaC}}_2$ is an acetylide and ${\mathrm{Be}}_2\mathrm{C} \& {\mathrm{Al}}_4{\mathrm{C}}_3$ are methanides. These compounds on reaction with ${\mathrm{D}}_2\mathrm{O}$, give deuteroacetylene and deuteromethane respectively.
