Two sides of a rhombus are along the lines, x-y+1=0 and 7x-y-5=0 . If its diagonals intersect at -1, -2 , then which one of the following is a vertex of this rhombus ?
  1. 13, -83
  2. -103, -73
  3. -3, -9
  4. -3, -8

Solution

d1 :y-2=-2-2-1-1 x-1

y-2=2x-1

y-2x=0

d2d1    2y+x=k , -1, -2 Lies on it k=-5

2y+x+5=0

Now point of intersection  of d2 and L1
x-y+1=0  ......1

x+2y+5=0   .......2

on solving 1 & 2

-3y-4=0

y= -43

And point of intersection of d2 and L2

x+2y+5=0   ......3

14x-2y-10=0   ........4
On solving 3 & 4
And y= -83

15x-5=0

x=13
