Two ideal diodes are connected to a battery as shown in the circuit. The current supplied by the battery is
  1. zero
  2. 0.25 A
  3. 0.50 A
  4. $\quad 0.75 \mathrm{~A}$

Solution

In given circuit, the diode $\mathrm{D}_2$ is connected in reverse bias. Hence, no current flows through $40 \Omega$ resistor. $\therefore \quad \mathrm{I}=\frac{\mathrm{V}}{\mathrm{R}}=\frac{10}{40}=0.25 \mathrm{~A}$ .
