Three identical resistors with resistance R=12 Ω and two identical inductors with sell inductance L=5 mH are connected to an ideal battery with emf of 12 V as shown in figure. The current through the battery long after the switch has been closed will be________A.

Solution

We know that after long time an inductor offers zero resistance i.e., in steady state condition.

Here all three identical resistors are in parallel, so equivalent resistance is, Req=123=4 Ω

Now, current through the battery is I=124=3 A
