The variation of acceleration due to gravity g with distance r from the center of the earth is correctly represented by

(Given R= radius of earth)

Solution

We know that the gravitational field strength varies according to the variation of the distance of an object from the centre of the earth.

So, gravitational field strength inside the earth varies as,

g=GMrR3 if  0rR.

So, gr.

At the surface, it is maximum, g=GMR2.

Outside the earth, it varies as, g1r2 for (rR).

So, this is the possible graph,
