The units nanometer and picometer are related as,
  1. $1 \mathrm{~nm}=10^{3} \mathrm{pm}$
  2. $1 \mathrm{~nm}=10^{-9} \mathrm{pm}$
  3. $1 \mathrm{~nm}=10^{-12} \mathrm{pm}$
  4. $1 \mathrm{~nm}=10^{-3} \mathrm{pm}$

Solution

- \(1 \mathrm{~nm}=10^{-9} \mathrm{~m}\) - \(1 \mathrm{pm}=10^{-12} \mathrm{~m}\) To convert nanometers to picometers: \(\frac{1 \mathrm{~nm}}{1 \mathrm{pm}}=\frac{10^{-9} \mathrm{~m}}{10^{-12} \mathrm{~m}}=10^3\) Thus, \(1 \mathrm{~nm}=1000 \mathrm{pm}\).
