The two polynucleotide chains in DNA are:

The two polynucleotide chains in DNA are:
  1. discontinuous
  2. antiparallel
  3. semiconservative
  4. parallel.

Solution

Watson and Crick through their DNA model has shown that the two strands of DNA are antiparallel. One chain grows in $5^{\prime} \rightarrow 3^{\prime}$ direction and the other chain grows in the $3^{\prime} \rightarrow 5^{\prime}$ direction. Caution DNA is not semi conservative, but the replication process is.
