The tension in the spring is

- zero
- \(10 \mathrm{~N}\)
- \(2.5 \mathrm{~N}\)
- \(5 \mathrm{~N}\)
Solution

Since, the spring is stretched by an equal force of \(5 \mathrm{~N}\) in opposite direction as shown in the figure. Thus, it will be stretched by an equal amount in both directions giving rise to a tension of \(5+5=10 \mathrm{~N}\).
