The sum of the squares of the intercepts made by the line 5x-2y=10 on the co-ordinate axes equals
  1. 29
  2. 25
  3. 4
  4. 100

Solution

The given line is 5x-2y=10

The intercept form of the line is x2-y5=1

Thus, the intercepts are 2, -5

Hence, the sum of squares of the intercepts is 22+-52

=22+52=4+25=29
