Assume a system of three particles having mass m1, m2 and m3 located at a distance of r1, r2 and r3 from the centre of mass.

If centre of mass of the system is at origin, r=m1r1+m2r2+m3r3m1+m2+m3=0 then, m1r1+m2r2+m3r3=0

Sum of moments of particles in a system about centre of mass is, τcom=m1r1a+m2r2a+m3r3a=am1r1+m2r2+m3r3=0

Hence, sum of moments of particles of a system is always zero about centre of mass is zero.
