Let $E_1$ be the energy of the first energy level, then $E_2=\frac{E_1}{4}$ For highest level $\mathrm{E}_{\infty}=0$ $\begin{array}{ll} \therefore & E_2-E_1=\frac{E_1}{4}-E_1=-\frac{3}{4} E_1 \\ & E_{\infty}-E_2=0-\frac{E_1}{4}=-\frac{E_1}{4} \\ \therefore & \frac{E_2-E_1}{E_{\infty}-E_2}=3: 1 \end{array}$ ~
