The rate law for the reaction below is given by the expression kA[B]

A+BProduct

If the concentration of B is increased from 0.1 to 0.3 mol, keeping the value of A at 0.1 mol, the rate constant will be:
  1. 3k
  2. 9k
  3. k/3
  4. k

Solution

Rate constant is independent of concentration. It depends only on temperature. But the rate of the reaction increases by three times as the order of the reaction is one.
