The number of optical isomers exhibited by the iron complex (A) obtained from the following reaction is ________
$\mathrm{FeCl}_3+\mathrm{KOH}+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{C}_2 \mathrm{O}_4 \rightarrow \mathrm{~A}$

Solution

$\mathrm{FeCl}_3+\mathrm{KOH}+\mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4 \rightarrow \mathrm{~K}_3\left[\mathrm{Fe}\left(\mathrm{C}_2 \mathrm{O}_4\right)_3\right]$
$\Rightarrow\left[\mathrm{Fe}\left(\mathrm{C}_2 \mathrm{O}_4\right)_3\right]^{3-}$ is $\left[\mathrm{M}(\mathrm{AA})_3\right]$ type complex.
So total optical isomers $=2$
