The moment of inertia of uniform circular disc is maximum about an axis perpendicular to the disc and passing through point
  1. A
  2. B
  3. C
  4. D

Solution

Moment of Inertia $(\mathrm{I})=\mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{CM}}+\mathrm{Md}^2$ where $d$ is distance of axis from COM The $\mathrm{I}_{\mathrm{CM}}$ and M is same for all the points and only ' d ' is varying As axis B is having more distance from COM and thus will have more moment of inertia.
