The length of the side of a cube is $1.2 \times 10^{-2} \mathrm{~m}$. Its volume up to correct significant figures is
- $1.732 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~m}^3$
- $1.73 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~m}^3$
- $1.70 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~m}^3$
- $1.7 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~m}^3$
Solution
Length of cube, $1=1.2 \times 10^{-2} \mathrm{~m}$
$\therefore \quad$ Volume $=1^3=\left(1.2 \times 10^{-2}\right)^3=1.728 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~m}^3$
$\therefore$ The volume of cube upto correct significant figure is $\mathrm{V}=1.7 \times 10^{-6} \mathrm{~m}^3$
