Solution

We know that, a.b=abcosθ

cosθ=(αi^-2j^+2k^)·(αi^+2αj^-2k^)α2+4+4α2+4α2+4

cosθ=α2-4α-4α2+85α2+4

Since θ is acute,

α2-4α-4>0

α2-4α+4>8

(α-2)2>8

α-2>22 or α-2<-22

α>2+22 or α<2-22

So, the least positive integral value of α is 5.
