The kinetic energy of a light body and a heavy body is same. Which one of them has greater momentum?

The kinetic energy of a light body and a heavy body is same. Which one of them has greater momentum?
  1. A body having high velocity
  2. Heavy body
  3. Light body
  4. A body having large displacement

Solution

If $\mathrm{k}$ is the kinetic energy and $\mathrm{p}$ is the momentum, then $\mathrm{k}=\frac{\mathrm{p}^2}{2 \mathrm{~m}} \therefore \mathrm{p}^2=2 \mathrm{mk}$ If $\mathrm{k}$ is constant, then $\mathrm{p}^2 \propto \mathrm{m}$ *
