The inductive reactance of a coil is ' R ' $\Omega$. If inductance of a coil is tripled and frequency of a.c supply is also tripled, then new inductive reactance will be
  1. $\frac{\mathrm{R}}{9}$
  2. $\frac{\mathrm{R}}{3}$
  3. 3 R
  4. 9 R

Solution

Inductive reactance $=\mathrm{X}_{\mathrm{L}}=\mathrm{R}=2 \pi \mathrm{fL}$ If L and f both are tripled, the inductive reactance will become $9 R$.
