The equation of the plane, passing through the mid point of the line segment of join of the points $\mathrm{P}(1,2,5)$ and $Q(3,4,3)$ and perpendicular to it, is
  1. $\quad x+y-\mathrm{z}+1=0$
  2. $x+y-z-1=0$
  3. $x+y+z+1=0$
  4. $\quad x-y-z+1=0$

Solution

M is the midpoint $\mathrm{M}=(2,3,4)$ d.r.s of PQ : 2, 2, --2 Equation of plane is $\begin{aligned} & 2(x-2)+2(y-3)-2(z-4)=0 \\ & \Rightarrow 2 x+2 y-2 z-2=0 \\ & \Rightarrow x+y-z-1=0 \end{aligned}$
