The equation of bisectors of the angle between the lines represented by 3 x 2 - 5 x y + 4 y 2 = 0 is

The equation of bisectors of the angle between the lines represented by 3x2-5xy+4y2=0 is
  1. 9x2+6y2-2x=0
  2. 5x2-y2=2xy
  3. 3x2+2xy-y2=0
  4. 5x2+xy+4y2=0

Solution

Given equation is  3x2-5xy+4y2=0      .....1

Compare the given equation with ax2+2hxy+by2=0     ......2

We get, a=3, 2h=-5 and b=4

Now the equation of the bisector of the angle between the pair of lines 1  is

x2-y2a-b=xyh

x2-y23-4=xy-52

 5x2-2xy-5y2=0

5x2-y2=2xy
