The electronegativity of the given elements increases in the order

The electronegativity of the given elements increases in the order
  1. C, N, S i, P
  2. N, S i, C, P
  3.  Si,P,C,N
  4. P, S i, N, C

Solution

Since electronegativities increase in a period from left to right, therefore, electronegativity of N is more than that C and electronegativity of P is more than that of Si. Further since electronegativities decrease down a group in the periodic table, therefore, electronegativity of C is more than that of Si and electronegativity of N is more than that of P. Hence, the electronegativity of the given elements increases in the order  Si,P,C,N.
