The domain of the function f ( x ) = 1 [ x ] - 1 , where [ x ] is greatest integer function of x is

The domain of the function f(x)=1[x]-1, where [x] is greatest integer function of x is
  1. R(1,2)
  2. R{1}
  3. R{0,1}
  4. R[1,2)

Solution

Given that, f(x)=1[x]-1

Domain =R-points at which f(x) is not defined

Now, f(x) will be undefined, when x-1=0x=1

Now, all the values for which the greatest integer function is 1.

x[1, 2)

Therefore, Domain of f(x) is R-[1, 2)
