The distance of the origin from the centroid of the triangle whose two sides have the equations x-2y+1=0 and 2x-y-1=0 and whose orthocenter is 73, 73 is:
  1. 2
  2. 2
  3. 22
  4. 4

Solution

Let ABx-2y+1=0 and AC2x-y-1=0

So, A1, 1

Now, altitude from B which is perpendicular to line 2x-y-1=0 and which passes through 73,73 is  BH=x+2y-7=0,

Now intersection of BH & AB will give point B3, 2

Similarly, altitude from C is CH=2x+y-7=0C2, 3

Centroid of ABC=E2, 2 & OE=22

where O is origin.
