The circumcentre of the triangle with vertices at ( - 2 ,   3 ) ,   ( 1 , - 2 )   and ( 2 , 1…

The circumcentre of the triangle with vertices at (-2, 3), (1,-2) and (2,1) is
  1. 67,27
  2. -67,27
  3. 67,-27
  4. -67,-27

Solution

Circumcentre of the triangle is equidistant from the vertices of the triangle. Let Ox,y be the circumcentre of the triangle.

Now,

OA=x+22+y-32  ...i

OB=x-12+y+22  ...ii

OC=x-22+y-12  ...iii

OA=OB=OC

Equating i & ii, we get

x+22+y-32=x-12+y+22

x+22+y-32=x-12+y+22

3x-5y+4=0  ...iv

Equating ii & iii, we get

x-12+y+22=x-22+y-12

x-12+y+22=x-22+y-12

x+3y=0  ...v

On solving iv & v, we get

x,y-67,27
