The charge flowing in a conductor changes with time as Qt=αt-βt2+γt3, where α, β and γ are constants. Minimum value of current is:
  1. α-3β2γ
  2. α-γ23β
  3. β-α23γ
  4. α-β23γ

Solution

Given here, Q=αt-βt2+γt3

Current flowing through conductor is given by

i=dQdt=α-2βt+3γt2    ...1

For current to be minimum, didt=0

So, didt=6γt-2β=0

t=β3γ

Substituting in equation (1),

i=α-2βt+3γt2=α-2ββ3γ+3γβ3γ2=α-2β23γ+3β29γ=α-β23γ
