The area of the triangle with vertices P ( z ) ,   Q ( i z ) and R ( z + i z ) is

The area of the triangle with vertices P(z), Q(iz) and R(z+iz) is
  1. 1
  2. 12|z|2
  3. 12
  4. 12|z+iz|2

Solution

From the above diagram, it is clear that z, iz are perpendicular to each other.

Here, base =z, height =iz

So, area of the triangle formed by the vertices i.e.,

A=12×base×height

A=12×z×iz

A=12z2

Hence, the required area is 12z2.
