In damped oscillation, amplitude changes according to following formula-

a=a0e-bt

Here a0=Initial amplitude

a=Amplitude at any time t

Using given data-

a02=a0e-b×1      1

and a0x=a0e-b×3   2

From equation 1-

  e-b=12

Using equation 1 and 2-

  x2=e-be-3b=e-be-b3

  x2=12123=4

   x=8 min
