tan - 1 ( - 2 ) - tan - 1 ( 3 ) is equal to

tan-1(-2)-tan-1(3) is equal to
  1. 3π4
  2. -π6
  3. π6
  4. -3π4

Solution

Given that: tan-1(-2)-tan-1(3)

As we know that, tan-1(-x)=-tan-1x

=-tan-1(2)-tan-1(3)

=-(tan-1(2)+tan-1(3))

As we know that,tan-1(x)+tan-1(y) =π+tan-1(x+y1-xy) when xy>1 .

=-π-tan-1(2+31-2×3)

=-π-tan-1(-1)

=-π+tan-11

=-3π4
