The Young's modulus (E) is a property of the material that tells us how easily it can stretch and deform and is defined as the ratio of tensile stress (σ) to tensile strain (ε).

Y=FAdlldl=lπd2×4FY

As in our case, value of 4FY will be constant.

Therefore, for maximum elongation, value of lπd2 should be maximum.

Hence, for l=50 cm and d=0.5 mm elongation will be maximum.
