Progestogens alone or in combination with estrogens can be used as a contraceptive in the form of:
  1. Implants only
  2. Injections only
  3. Pills, injections and implants
  4. Pills only

Solution

Oral pills: The pills contain a combination of synthetic hormones like progesterone and estrogen. These hormones inhibit ovulation and implantation by inhibiting the secretion of FSH and LH from the pituitary gland.

Injections or Implants: It is a type of hormonal method in which the hormones like progestogens (similar to progesterone) are injected into the women’s bloodstream subcutaneously while in implants it is placed under the skin. The effect of these implants is longer as compared to pills.
