Number of moles of AgCl formed in the following reaction is _____ .

Number of moles of AgCl formed in the following reaction is _____ .

Solution

Benzylic and tertiary carbocations are stable. The positive charge is unstable at double bonded carbon. Hence, two moles of silver chloride is precipitated from one mole of given molecule.

In the above molecule, carbon-1 and carbo-2 are double bonded carbons. Carbon-3 and carbon-4 forms secondary carbocation and tertiary carbocation respectively.
