Molar mass of the salt from NaBr, NaNO3, KI and CaF2 which does not evolve coloured vapours on heating with concentrated H2SO4 is ____ g mol1, (Molar mass in g mol1 : Na : 23, N : 14, K : 39, O : 16, Br : 80, I : 127, F : 19, Ca : 40)

Solution

On heating NaBr with concentrated sulphuric acid gives brown colour bromine vapours.

On heating NaNO3 with concentrated sulphuric acid will release a brown colour NO2 gas

On heating I- with concentrated sulphuric acid gives a dark purple colour.

On heating with concentrated sulphuric acid with CaF2 does not give any colour because it produces colourless hydrogen fluoride.Molar mass of CaF2 is 78.07 g/mol
