Meiotic division of the secondary oocyte is completed

Meiotic division of the secondary oocyte is completed
  1. At the time of copulation
  2. After zygote formation
  3. At the time of fusion of a sperm with an ovum
  4. Prior to ovulation

Solution

The entry of sperm into the ovum induces completion of the meiotic division of the secondary oocyte. The second meiotic division is also unequal and results in the formation of a second polar body and a haploid ovum (ootid). Soon the haploid nucleus of the ovum fuses together to form a diploid zygote.
