Let y = y x be a solution curve of the differential equation, 1 - x 2 y 2 d x = y d x + x d y , If the line…

Let y=yx be a solution curve of the differential equation, 1-x2y2dx=ydx+xdy, If the line x=1 intersects the curve y=yx at y=2 and the line x=2 intersects the curve y=yx at y=α, then a value of α is
  1. 1-3e223e2+1
  2. 1+3e223e2-1
  3. 3e223e2-1
  4. 3e223e2+1

Solution

Given,

1-x2y2dx=ydx+xdy

dx=ydx+xdy1-xy2

dx=dyx1-xy2

dx=12dxy1-xy+dxy1+xy

Now integrating both side we get,

2x+c=ln1+xy1-xy

xy+1xy-1=ece2x

Now given, y1=2 so putting the value in above equation we get,

3=ece2

ec=3e2

Hence, the equation becomes xy+1xy-1=3e2x-2

Now finding y2 so putting x=2 in above equation we get,

2y+12y-1=3e2

2y+1=2·3e2y-3e2

1+3e2=2y3e2-1

y2=1+3e223e2-1
