Let the vectors a → ,   b → ,   c → represent three coterminous edges of a…

Let the vectors a, b, c represent three coterminous edges of a parallelopiped of volume V. Then the volume of the parallelopiped, whose coterminous edges are represented by a, b+c and a+2b+3c is equal to
  1. 2V
  2. 6V
  3. V
  4. 3V

Solution

We know that,

Volume of parallelepiped whose edges determined by vectors a, b, c is abc.

Now it is given that V is volume of parallelepiped a, b, c, so required volume of parallelepiped with new edges will be

=ab+ca+2b+3c

=100011123abc

=13-2-0+0abc

=abc

=V

Hence this is the correct option.
