Let PQRS be a quadrilateral in a plane, where QR=1,PQR=QRS=70°,PQS=15° and PRS=40°. If RPS=θ°,PQ=α and PS=β, then the interval(s) that contain(s) the value of 4αβsinθ° is/are

Solution

Given,

PQRS be a quadrilateral in a plane, where QR=1,PQR=QRS=70°,PQS=15° and PRS=40°. If RPS=θ°,PQ=α and PS=β

Now plotting the diagram of given values we get,

 

Applying sine rule in PQR we get,

αsin30°=1sin80°

α=12sin80°        ...i

Applying sine rule in PRS,

βsin402=1sinθ

βsinθ=sin40°        ...ii

From (i) & (ii),

4αβsinθ=4·12sin80°·sin40°=1cos40°

Using cos0°=1,cos30°=32,cos45°=12 and cos60°=12

Only Options (A) and (B) are correct.
