Given,

 1+2+3+.............+120

Now we now that,

x=1, when x[1,4)x=2, when x[4,9) and similarly x=10, when x[100,120)

Now using the above formula we get,

E=1+1+1+2+2+2+2+2+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+4+4+

E=3×1+5×2+7×3+..+19×9+10×21

E=r=1102r+1r

E=2r=110r2+r

E=210×11×216+10×112

E=770+55

E=825
