The ethyl bromide undergo elimination reaction with alc.KOH gives ethene.

Ethene gives dibromoethane with bromine in carbon tetra chloride. The dibromoethane converts to dicyanoethane with excess KCN. The dicyanoethane on hydrolysis gives Succinic Acid.
