Assertion A: Metallic sodium dissolves in liquid ammonia giving a deep blue solution, which is paramagnetic.
Reasons R: The deep blue solution is due to the formation of amide.

Solution

The alkali metals dissolve in ammonia to give a deep blue solution which is conducting in nature.

Due to the presence of ammoniated electrons, it is deep blue colour solution and paramagnetic in nature.

During the formation of amide, blue colour changes to bronze and paramagnetic nature changes to diamagnetic.
