In van dar Wall equation P+aV2V-b=RT; P is pressure, V is volume, R is universal gas constant and T is temperature. The ratio of constants ab is dimensionally equal to :
  1. PV
  2. VP
  3. PV
  4. PV3

Solution

P+aV2V-b=nRT

Dimensions of b should be equal to dimensions of V. Similarly, dimensions of a will be equal to dimensions of PV2.

Therefore, dimensions of ab=PV2V=PV
